Refund policy

At BlackoutMate, we stand behind the quality of our blackout curtains. Because our products are made to standard sizes and shipped internationally, we ask customers to review the sizing guide carefully before ordering, as we are unable to accept returns for change of mind or incorrect sizing chosen by the customer.

Eligible returns We accept returns or replacements only if:

  • The item arrived defective, damaged, or faulty
  • You received the wrong item
  • The item is significantly not as described

Timeframe You must contact us within 14 days of delivery at hello@blackoutmate.com with your order number and photos of the issue.

Process

  1. Email hello@blackoutmate.com with your order number and photos.
  2. Our team will review your claim within 2 business days.
  3. If approved, we will offer a replacement or a full refund to your original payment method.
  4. Approved returns due to our error are free of charge to you. If a return is approved for another reason at our discretion, return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility.

Refunds Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days after approval and may take additional time to appear on your statement depending on your bank or card provider.

Non-returnable situations

  • Change of mind
  • Incorrect measurements taken by the customer
  • Items that have been installed and show signs of use beyond simple fitting
